THE OBSESSIVE TRAVELER

THIS WEEK'S OBSESSION

You Don't Have to be First

Hero of the Seas
September 25, 2027

Confession Time...

I know there's something exciting about being first.

First sailing.

First review.

First picture posted online.

First one to say,

"I was there."

I completely understand the appeal.

But can I tell you something?

I think this sailing might actually be the sweet spot.

By late September, Hero of the Seas will still be one of the newest ships anywhere in the world.

People will still be discovering their favorite restaurants.

Families will still be figuring out which neighborhood feels most like home.

Cruise fans will still be posting videos saying,

"You have to see this."

The excitement won't have faded.

It will have settled in.

And I kind of love that.

Because life has taught me that not everything has to happen on opening day to be extraordinary.

Sometimes it's even better to arrive once everyone has found their rhythm.

The crew will have settled into life onboard.

The entertainment will have found its stride.

The restaurants will be humming along.

The little opening-week surprises will mostly be stories someone else gets to tell.

You'll still be stepping onto one of the newest, most talked-about ships in the world.

You'll just get to do it with a little extra confidence.

And honestly?

That sounds pretty perfect to me.

But here's the thing...

As incredible as Hero promises to be, I don't think the memories begin and end onboard.

Because eventually, even the most amazing ship has to let you off for a little while.

And this itinerary?

It feels like someone sprinkled Caribbean daydreams across a calendar.

Maybe you'll spend one morning floating in impossibly blue water with nowhere to be except exactly where you are.

Maybe you'll wander colorful streets where music spills out of little shops and lunch somehow tastes better with an ocean view.

Maybe you'll find the perfect beach chair, order one more frozen drink than you planned, and lose track of time altogether.

And then there are the sea days.

Those glorious, wonderful sea days.

The kind where you wake up without setting an alarm, grab a coffee, wander the ship with no destination in mind, and suddenly realize you haven't looked at your phone in hours.

I've always believed cruises have a magical way of slowing life down.

This one feels like it was designed to remind us how good that can feel.

What excites me most isn't that Hero is enormous.

Or that she'll have more restaurants, neighborhoods, entertainment, and experiences than ever before.

It's that somewhere onboard, every single family is creating a completely different vacation.

Someone will spend all day chasing waterslides.

Someone else will spend the afternoon reading in a quiet corner overlooking the ocean.

Someone will order dessert twice.

Someone will dance under the stars.

Someone will watch their child conquer a fear.

Someone will finally remember what it feels like to truly relax.

We're all sailing on the same ship.

But every story is different.

And maybe that's why Hero feels so special.

Not because she's new.

But because she's full of possibility.

The possibility of slowing down.

Laughing harder.

Playing longer.

Putting the phone away.

Making memories you'll still be talking about years from now.

And I have a feeling that's something we could all use a little more of.

💙 Maybe This Is Your Sign...

If you've made it all the way to the bottom of this page, I have a sneaking suspicion Hero has found its way onto your bucket list.

I understand.

Mine too.

And since you stayed until the end, I'll let you in on a little secret.

I have group space reserved on this sailing, often at pricing that's better than booking directly.

But honestly?

The pricing is only part of the story.

My favorite part is getting to help people create vacations they'll still be talking about long after the suitcases are unpacked.

You get to count down the days.

I'll obsess over the details.

And if somewhere along the way you caught yourself thinking,

"Maybe this is the one..."

I'd love to help make it happen.

🥂 To full ships, full passports, and full hearts.
