Confession Time...
I have a problem.
Every time I cruise to Alaska, I come home convinced nowhere else on Earth is as beautiful.
Then I sail somewhere tropical and think, "Okay...maybe it's a tie."
But Alaska?
Alaska is different.
You don't just visit Alaska.
You experience it.
The first time I sailed there, I remember stepping onto my balcony with a cup of coffee in my hand.
The ship was almost completely quiet.
The mountains were so big they barely looked real.
The water looked like glass.
And for a minute...
Nobody said a word.
Hundreds of people stood on balconies all over the ship, silently staring at something too beautiful to explain.
Cruising the Caribbean makes me feel relaxed.
Cruising Alaska makes me feel small.
In the very best way.
And that's why I keep going back.
Now, don't get me wrong...
Quantum of the Seas is an incredible ship.
You've got Broadway-style entertainment, amazing restaurants, North Star soaring high above the ship, indoor spaces perfect for cool evenings, and enough activities to keep everyone happy on sea days.
But here's my little cruise hot take.
On an Alaska sailing...
The ship is the supporting actor.
Nature is the star of the show.
Every morning you wake up wondering what you'll see outside your window.
Snow-capped mountains.
Tiny fishing villages.
Waterfalls spilling down cliffs.
Glaciers that almost glow blue.
And then...
There are the whales.
Nobody tells you that the entire ship goes quiet.
Complete strangers point toward the water.
Cameras come out.
People you've never met start whispering to each other like old friends.
And for a few magical minutes...
Everyone onboard forgets about work emails, laundry, deadlines, and grocery lists.
They're simply humans watching something incredible happen in front of them.
It's one of my favorite things about Alaska.
The itinerary itself is amazing.
Sitka.
Juneau.
Skagway.
Victoria.
Each port has its own personality and stories waiting to be discovered.
But honestly?
Some of my favorite memories happened while I was doing absolutely nothing.
Sitting on my balcony.
Walking the promenade.
Watching mountains drift by while the world slowed down for a little while.
That's Alaska.
It quietly reminds you that there are still places capable of taking your breath away.
And I think we all need that reminder every once in a while.
💗 One Last Obsession...
If you've never cruised to Alaska before, let me offer one little piece of advice.
Take the pictures.
Bring the camera.
Capture the memories.
But don't spend the whole trip looking through a screen.
There will be moments when the mountains glow in the evening light, a glacier cracks with a sound you'll never forget, or a whale surfaces beside the ship when you least expect it.
Take the picture.
Then put the phone down.
I promise you'll remember the feeling longer than you'll remember the photo.

That often means pricing that's better than what you'll find booking directly, but if I'm being honest, that's not my favorite part.
My favorite part is getting to be the person behind the scenes who reminds you when check-in opens, celebrates your countdown milestones, helps you choose the right cabin, watches for price drops, and answers the random questions that inevitably pop up somewhere between "Should I pack hiking boots?" and "How many sweatshirts is too many?" 😂
You get to dream about glaciers, whales, and mountain views.
I'll obsess over the details.
